The Martinez Family has ranched in the Taos Valley for 7 generations. The cattle are primarily Angus with some Hereford and Gelvieh influence to produce the flavorful beef we harvest for our own families. Calves are born in the spring on the meadows of Lower Ranchitos followed by summer grazing in the lush mountains pastures east of Taos, NM.
We have never used growth hormones and the calves are grown out on grass, hay, and natural feed. We harvest these calves between 7 and 12 months of age, (while most are still nursing). The resulting beef is tender and tasty because of their young age and the lush Taos grass they enjoy. From the Martinez Family to your family, enjoy!
